What is the difference between a panda and a penguin?
In the animal kingdom, there is a great deal of difference. The same can be said when discussing Google’s method of search algorithms.
The idea is the same behind each algorithm. Updates like Google Panda and Google Penguin are meant to weed out websites that don’t have a lot of rich content. Maybe these websites use keywords or shady techniques to get them mentioned high atop search engines.

Before we talk about ways to enrich your website in relation to Penguin, let us discuss what led to the Penguin program’s introduction. In April of 2012, the Penguin update was introduced, with a goal of decreasing search-engine rankings for programs and websites that violated Google’s Webmaster Guidelines.
Ways of fooling a search engine included copying content with a few words missing and selling it as all-new copy. Is it dishonest? It certainly fooled search engines up until the past year, when first Panda and then Penguin separated the wheat from the chaff, so to speak. Now, websites that have a flashy front page when first clicked are scrutinized for what is underneath. Is there more content where that came from or does the website have a great front page and nothing else behind it?
The biggest sure-fire way to help your website get around the effects of Penguin is to build the brand from the ground up. Do you have a product or a service to sell? Then sell it, and make sure you link your company name on other sites so that traffic will come to yours. Make sure the links are quality links and not just placed there for the heck of it.
There is more to the business side of Penguin than just linking. The key, first and foremost, is to create good, solid content. Make sure your content is seen on reputable websites. People who visit the best websites related to their line of work or field will remember your site more if it is mentioned on there.
Leave an online paper trail. You can do this by migrating your paperwork and files to online by using management companies and their products. The best way to get around Penguin and guarantee your website gets plenty of high online praise is to always be closing. Visit blogs and offer to make guest appearances. If you do this, you will look like an authority in your field. Taking part in forums featuring well-known businesspeople serves the same purpose.

The more you do these little things a bit at a time, the more likely your website will pay off with word of mouth and high search rankings. Keep updating your product with PR and fresh content. The older your content, the more likely the penguin will visit and knock your site down. That’s the last thing you want to happen. Fresh is best. The fresher your product, the higher your visibility.
Google Panda and Penguin are a first step in creating a better search index, but they still have a long way to go. The internet is huge.
i think that the things get tougher when you have a service to sell (such as programming services) and not a physical product. at this point pinterest, youtube etc. can’t really help a lot. as i see it, a good solution would be to list your services on directories or specific sites that bring together both sellers and buyers.

Google panda and penguin still has a longer way to go some time they affect good sites and the only way for recovery is to wait until next update. still need more improvments
