HOW TO: Bring Google Chrome’s Best Features To Firefox | Omnibar

The best thing about Google Chrome is OmniBar, not its speed, not its security or anything else but the simple and compact OmniBar. This even though is unique but also so efficient that even the Chrome haters liked it. OmniBar is the unique bar, which is a combination of both the Address bar as well as the search engine bar.

Usually we spend surfing is wasted in just searching the proper keywords and for that, we have to go to the search engine site every time, or place it so effectively that you can find your desired thing in the search engine bar. What if you can use the address bar to search also, that is what this OmniBar do.

It integrates the search bar in the address bar and hence making the destination of both URL and search keywords same. It not only saves time but also makes you sweat less when you keep searching different things in the cumbersome way of going to the search engine website and then searching.

Firefox being the most popular browser is blessed with this add-on. You just have to install it and then it will integrate the address bar with the search bar of Firefox. The best part is that you can choose your own favorite search engine, Google, Yahoo, Bing etc.

Address Bar

It also Gives You Search Suggestions

OmniBar not only simplifies your search by allowing you to search in the address bar but also provides suggestions that are optimized for the keywords you are using. Just type in the query and you will see magic happening, that there is a list of all the search results that you would wish your Firefox browser to provide but envied as only Chrome has it.

You should place your hands on this add-on, as it is a winner you would like to possess. It also works with the older versions of Firefox.

This is indeed a very useful feature. I prefere Chrome to Firefox because in Firefox you need to press down key to get an auto-completion. In Chrome you just enter the first letter of the website and you can hit enter and it goes right away. Of course this only happens for the frequent visited websites. But it’s pretty cool.

  11. Great post! Chrome is my personal favorite, however I use Firefox most of the time due to the type of work I do. When I look at my websites Google Analytics, I’m still amazed that the vast majority of internet users still use Internet Explorer. Chrome has so much more to offer. Thanks for sharing!
