You missed the best PDF reader, which is GoodReader. Also for reading Project Gutenberg titles, Eucalyptus gives a gorgeous experience. And Stanza is head and shoulders the best ebook reader on the device.

Thanks for the list. One question, do these apps work on the iPad as well?
Undeniably feel that which you said. Your preferred reason appeared to be on the internet the easiest matter to be aware of. I say to you, I certainly get irked while men and women imagine about worries that they just don’t know about. You managed to hit the nail on the top and also defined out the whole factor without developing side-effects , persons could get a signal. Will in all probability be back again to have a lot more. Thank you
Great post. I don’t know if you can help or not, but I recently got the ipad, and I can’t get the wireless download working. Any tips? I will try anything at this point!
Great post. I don’t know if you can help or not, but I recently purchased the sony ereader, but I can’t figure out how to download the books over my wifi. Any ideas?
Read Lite has a clean interface and the load times are quick.
i prefer kindle it is so good
I agree, Kindle is the best of all. I tried several others but at the end Kindle was my choice.
Hey, these are some pretty useful iPhone apps. Kind of makes you wonder why you’d need a Kindle…
I’m sorry to say but in my opinion kindle is on the way out. Besides apple products there is also one little thing called Android – phones and tablets. I’m pretty sure they’ll take up a huge portion of the market in the future.
Hi! I love your article. I’ve always been an apple enthusiast. I think Quick Reader is the best.
I appreciate that you’ve provided all of these iphone apps, but sometimes I feel like the world is discriminating against those of us in the Windows Mobile camp. (We are admittedly a small group.) What would you recommend for reading ebooks on a Windows phone?
by far kindle is the best one
Thanks for the great collection of ebook apps. This is just what I was looking for!
I’m living in the US, but my native language is German, so I love to read German books. Shipping them from Germany is way to expensive and I was looking into ebook readers. I’m happy I found your post, since I now can save the money on the reader and just use my iPhone instead. From all the apps here Wirdy looks best to me. I’ll give it a run now.
Cheers,
Dave
Nicely put list there but I’m sure those weren’t listed in order of the ‘best’. Because I would personally have a totally different ranking myself with kindle at # 1.
Kobo has a really interesting interface, which was what lured me into it initially. Reading an e-book with it feels like you really have a traditional book in your hands. The downside, however, was that it’s way too much like the printed version that they seem to have missed adding common browsing functions (e.g. search, go to end, go to start, etc.), which was really disappointing.
I have not used it since, so I’m not sure if they have addressed already.

Thank you for this post. I always read my ebooks on my old Nokia with simple apps. Today this is far better on a smartphone.

There are other options out there; Windows 8 tablets such as the Surface, Ativ Tab and VivoTab Smart are starting to creep out, plus the BlackBerry PlayBook is still somehow on sale – but Android Jelly Bean is currently the main OS rival to the iPad 4 and iPad mini..
