HTML5 is being developed as the next major revision of HTML (HyperText Markup Language), the core markup language of the World Wide Web. HTML5 is the proposed next standard for HTML 4.01, XHTML 1.0 and DOM Level 2 HTML. It aims to reduce the need for proprietary plug-in-based rich internet application (RIA) technologies such as Adobe Flash, Microsoft Silverlight, and Sun JavaFX.
Canvas has a most common support region to compose in HTML code with height and width attributes. JavaScript code may access the area through a full set of drawing functions similar to other common 2D APIs, thus allowing for dynamically generated graphics.
The canvas element is part of HTML5 and allows for dynamic, scriptable rendering of 2D shapes and bitmap images. It is a low level, procedural model that updates a bit map and does not have an in built scene graph.
Some anticipated uses of the canvas include building graphs, animations, games, and image composition. Today we are presenting Most Popular Games that you can play with the help of HTML5 Canvas on your browser. Of-course you will require some modern browsers like Firefox, Chrome & Safari.

HTML 5 is the future whether you like it or not. And these games just prove that!
A very good list, keep it up!

Honestly? These are the TOP html5 games?? These are the kind of games Flash v4 had 10 years ago. I’m not a Flash fanboy, but you cannot say html5 is the future for games based on the poor API and performance of canvas (in its current state to be fair).

I built a Concentration-style memory game called Match The Memory using Canvas (specifically the CakeJS library). It’s available at http://matchthememory.com and allows a user to upload their own photos and create a completely customized game, including text, videos, and links to other sites.
Check out DeviantArt Muro (link below).
Not a game per se, but still something fun and amusing to use

This is silly, all these games are as advanced as the ones I played on a 386 with 16MB ram when I was a child. And some of them are slow on a 100x machine. Canvas is a nice progress in HTML, but highly doubt it will ever replace flash in web games.
Try Canvasrider.com, tops most of these games easily.
Thanks for the effort you took to expand upon this post so thoroughly.
Why valid html code is important to your web site’s search engine optimization efforts and consequent high rankings! Such invalid html codes… A single missing bracket in your html code can be the cause your web page cannot be found in search engines… Providentially, there are free services that allow you to check and fix the validity of your html codes.

While these HTML5 scripted games are an interesting example of what you can do with HTML5, I don’t think that HTML5 will replace Flash anytime soon. Flash has too much momentum behind it and its pretty standardized. Plus its a very well developed developemnt platform and I don’t think that HTML5 will ever come close to it.

All I’m saying is that I really hope HTML5 will improve in the possible HTML6.
