But “Google Insights for Search” and “Google Trends” provide you with volitile results.
I personally use “Google Adwords Research Tool”,

Another good tool that offers limited free use is OSE (Opensite Explorer). This tool is especially helpful in finding links that competitors have. It also does a decent job of replacing Yahoo’s Site Explorer.
