How much time did you take to write this ‘article’. A review of every site’s pro/cons would have been a lot nicer. Thus far all free options I ever tried sucked in one way or another.

The thing is, most of these sites aren’t even free. sure they have free trials, but they’re so limited they’re hardly worth anything.

I use uptime robot which is free, simple, and does the trick.. not as fancy as the others, but good for the price.

I use host-tracker is good cause it track your site from any server in the world, pinged not only from one server

  10. Hi,

I use Uptime Robot for my websites and works a treat. Adding Twitter notifications is great because if one of your sites goes down, they will DM you via Twitter.. which is cool, because you can set Twitter to SMS you if Uptime Robot’s SMS feature does not support your country or phone network :) Plus Twitter emails – perfect for failure – 1) email 2) DM notification 3) SMS.

You can never be too verbose in the face of failure!

Nice post. But missed the feature comparison like monitoring frequency, alerts, report etc. between services. Most of the website you listed are not offering free website monitoring they just offering free trail.
